Pop-up RVs help dealer ride out down times

  Sandra Bretting writes in the Houston Chronicle about RV dealer Larry Troutt, owner of Topper’s Camping Center in Waller, Texas.

“Topper’s posted the highest volume in light-weight (pop-up) camper trailer sales in Texas last year.”

“According to Troutt, the key was to specialize in lightweight vehicles, which are less costly and more fuel-efficient than the grand RVs normally seen in the media.”

Topper’s “biggest biggest draw, comes from Internet shoppers.”
