Share

Lava_trailhead__JulianneGCraneTalk about an RV Short Stop that is easy to find and offers what traveling RVers need: Clean restrooms, covered outdoor tables for a picnic, and an expansive grassy area to exercise your dog–all this, plus the added bonus of an accessible trail for a little exercise  before getting back in the RV and heading down the road.

It is Hell’s Half Acre Lava Field rest area on I-15 at mile post 101, about halfway between Idaho Falls and Pocatello.

LavaFormation_sign_JulianneGCraneThe adjacent walking trail into ancient lava formations is complete with places to sit and information signs about the site’s history, vegetation and resident wildlife.
